Kai Johannes Polzhofer
German-Austrian conductor and experimental contemporary composer Kai Johannes Polzhofer graduated with honors in composition and philosophy from conservatories and universities in Graz, Leipzig, and Cambridge/Harvard with K. Lang, C.S. Mahnkopf, C. Czernowin, and S. Takasugi. 2018 PhD Harvard University). Conducting studies with L. Grin and currently student of Alexander Alexeev at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Numerous awards as well publications about philosophy and music. Polzhofer taught at Harvard University and University Leipzig (lecturer in philosophy). Broadcast (Österreich1, Bayerischer Rundfunk) he worked with leading ensembles of the contemporary music scene (among others JACK Quartet, Ensemble Recherche, Parker Quartet, Elision Ensemble). Assistant conductor (I. Volkov, F. Cortese), initiator and co-founder of forma Leipzig, the DuBois Orchestra at Harvard, and AHO Avantgarde Orchestra St. Petersburg. Since 2013 his compositions are published by Edition Gravis (Berlin).
