Timo Ruttkamp

Timo Ruttkamp was born in 1980 in Hagen/Germany and studied instrumental and electronic composition at the Cologne University of Music and Dance and the Paris Conservatory of Music and Dance amongst others with York Höller, Hans Ulrich Humpert and Frédéric Durieux.
He was awarded important national and international prizes such as Toru Takemitsu Composition Award in Tokyo and the German Music Competition and he was a finalist at the Isang Yun International Composition Prize in Seoul. Furthermore he received the renowned Bernd Alois Zimmermann Grant by the City of Cologne and a scholarship by the German Ministry of Culture for a six months stay at the Cité des Arts in Paris.
His works are performed by international orchestras, ensembles and soloists such as Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Eewha Symphony Orchestra Seoul, German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra, Austrian Ensemble for Contemporary Music (oenm), Signum Saxophone Quartet, klangwerkstatt weimar, E-Mex Ensemble, Ensemble LUX:NM Berlin and the organist Dominik Susteck.
